They played in a tournament set up for fantasy camp aficionados, organized by Play at The Plate.

They may have slapped pine tar on their bats. They smudged black shoe polish under their eyes. There they were, proudly suiting up in Toronto Blue Jays uniforms along with a collection of hard-core baseball fans from across Canada who had participated in other fantasy baseball camps. James Owens and his dad, Michael Owens, experienced the Field of Dreams first-hand in Dyersville, Iowa, in 2017. They experienced that Field of Dreams magical baseball feeling first-hand. They visited Dyersville in the middle of August four years ago, four years almost to the day prior to this year’s Major League Baseball extravaganza.
